Take a deep breath
You always have a choice about how to respond when you feel upset – to your boss, your colleague, your dog.
Breathe deep breaths.
Take a bathroom break.
Walk around the block.
Use your support network.
Be careful who you talk to –friends may rev you up which might feel good in the moment but not actually help and colleagues can be fun to commiserate with, but you don’t want to get a reputation as the bad apple.
The more calm and professional you are at the office, the better you look. I don’t mean cold and detached. One can be connected, compassionate and calm.
