Sharing the Goods
“What an artist is trying to do for people is bring them closer to something, because of course art is about sharing. You wouldn’t be an artist unless you wanted to share an experience, a thought.”
– David Hockney
Last June I was lucky enough to speak at the InHOWse Managers Conference in San Francisco. What a thrill to present “How to Manage a Creative Team” to 450 Creative leaders. I spoke on Compassionate Management (I know you’re shocked) within the Creative space, and it resonated deeply with the audience. Many people came up after and shared their experiences and asked questions and we talked about how anyone can start bringing compassion into their workplace at any moment.
For those of you who approached and emailed me asking for the slides, well I never did receive the video of the event, but I do have the audio and I’m placing a pdf of the presentation here for your reference.
Some people have said I’m crazy to post this here. “This is your proprietary content Rena!” It is, so this is a bit scary. But here’s the deal – Go ahead and quote me all day long! I mean really quote me; state that the source of this content is Rena DeLevie of The Roundtable Business.
My goal is this. I want Compassionate Management to be a standard business approach in the work world. It’s what I teach and practice on a daily basis. So please, do share this with your colleagues, friends and family. The more the merrier. And keep in mind, it’s best delivered live. In other words, I’d be delighted to lead a workshop at your office or offsite.
